Solarforce today

Based in Bourgoin-Jallieu (entre Lyon et Grenoble, France) since 2006, Solarforce has strongly proven RST process performances. It allows continuous multi-crystalline wafer production with any thickness from 60 to 120µm. Material quality allows for making excellent photovoltaic cells.

This is a major innovation as wafers still account for 45% of total photovoltaic module cost. Reducing wafer cost is a today a major and key challenge for PV industry.

Based on proven technical result, Solarforce starts a new phase of its development with a clear objective to set up a pilot production line in the next 2 years, to divide by a factor 3 the wafer cost and to reduce module cost by 15 to 20%.

Solarforce is a team of 15 highly qualified PhD, engineers and technicians.

Solarforce holds 8 patents worldwide and works closely with best European research centers (Konstanz, INES, INSA, ISE...).
